YouTube Launches Tool to Search Missing Person Appeals after Japan Disaster

Share Light #5 is YouTube Helping Fidn Missing Persons after Japan Disaster.


On March 11, 2011, the country of Japan was hit by a massive earthquake and tsunami, followed by nuclear plant failures.  In response to this world disaster, on March 18, 2011, YouTube launched a tool to help people find missing people after the disaster in Japan. YouTube gathered video messages from victims in shelters that were taken by Japanese television stations and grouped them in a specific YouTube Person Finder Channel.
